Isang epiko na karapat-dapat lang isama sa listahan ng mga pelikulang Pilipino na may katuturan at hindi sasayangin ang iyong oras na ilalaan sa panonood nito. Ang pelikula ay ang bayograpiya ni Heneral Antonio Luna sa panahon ng digmaan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Amerika. Dito ipapakita ng palabas kung papaanong matapang na hinarap ni Heneral Luna (John Arcilla) ang  pagsalakay ng mga Amerikano sa Pilipinas at kung paano nito ipinaglaban ang karapatang maging malaya ng mga Pilipino sa sarili nilang bansa.

Ngunit ang katapangan na ito ay hindi pa sapat upang maatim ang ninanais na kasarinlan ni Heneral Luna dahil ang pagiging makabayan nito ay taliwas sa pagiging makabayan ng kapwa niya Pilipinong sina Felipe Buencamino (Nonie Buencamino) at Pedro Paterno (Leo Martinez) kung saan suportado nila ang pakikipagkalakalan ng Pilipinas sa mga Amerikano. Gayunpaman ay ipinagpatuloy parin ni Luna ang kaniyang ipinaglalaban sa tulong na rin ng iba pang Heneral ngunit ang hindi niya alam, ang lahat ng ito ay mauuwi lang sa pagtataksil mula sa kapwa niya Pilipino dahil ang tunay na kalaban ay hindi ang mga Amerikano kundi ang mga sarili niyang kababayan.
